Shannon Mockli is an Associate Professor of Dance at the University of Oregon where she choreographs, performs and teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in contemporary dance practices, improvisation, dance history, ballet, and pedagogy. Shannon presents her choreography throughout the Pacific Northwest and internationally, most notably as part of the A.W.A.R.D Show in Seattle, the Breaking Ground Festival in Tempe, Arizona, the World Dance Alliance general assembly in St. John's, Newfoundland, at UDLAP in Puebla, Mexico, at the Border Dance Festival in Tijuana, Mexico, and as part of the IUGTE Physical Theatre Lab in Bovec, Slovenia. She has also served on several curation juries for the Northwest Screendance Festival and the World Dance Alliance Digital Dance Concert. Shannon is originally from Salt Lake City, Utah where she received her MFA and the L. Scott Marsh Mentorship Award from the University of Utah, Department of Modern Dance in 2008. While at the University of Utah, she danced with a wide variety of choreographers such as Stephen Koester, Harry Mavromacalis of "Dance Anonymous," Doug Elkins, Brent Schneider, Eric Handman, Abby Fiat, Tandy Beale, Lisa Race, Pamela Geber and Satu Hummasti.
